If you’ve noticed decreased water pressure from your shower head, it’s likely due to limescale buildup blocking the water holes. This common issue can be easily resolved with a few DIY techniques to clean and restore optimal water flow.
Cleaning a Fixed Shower Head:
- Prepare Vinegar Solution:
- Fill a plastic bag halfway with vinegar.
- Soak the Shower Head:
- Place the shower head in the plastic bag filled with vinegar.
- Secure the bag around the shower head using a tie or rubber band.
- Let it Soak Overnight:
- Allow the shower head to soak in the vinegar overnight. This will dissolve mineral deposits clogging the holes.
- Scrub and Rinse:
- The next morning, remove the bag and scrub the shower head with an old toothbrush to dislodge any remaining deposits.
- Run water through the shower head for a few minutes to flush out loosened debris.
